Every few years, our industry develops an irresistible urge to declare something dead. Monoliths. Java. The CMS. Email. Passwords. The front end. The back end. If you've spent any time on LinkedIn recently, you've almost certainly seen somebody confidently informing the rest of us that REST APIs are next. Usually this revelation is accompanied by a diagram featuring a handful of hexagons, a large language model in the middle, and enough glowing arrows to power a small town.
